11 Mar Fusion Women – Double Champions in Sheffield

The Women’s British League

Sheffield’s Ponds Forge Arena hosted the Women’s British League on the 27-28th January, where the Fusion women fought off Ulster and Bing Hall to become 1st division champions. With the win, they are now promoted to the Premier Division of the British League. The team, including Tiana Dennison, Daniel Kelly, Sarah Horsell, Emma Tovey, celebrated their exciting success, winning the last match in fine form against a strong XLNT Draycott squad.

Veterans’ British League

Fusion’s veteran women are riding high after recovering from a disappointing start to the season and out of nowhere ended up winning division 1. In this, the final weekend, the women showed experience and spirit to become champions, and like their younger clubmates are also now promoted to the Premier Division of the British league.

The veteran men’s team narrowly missed out on promotion, securing the runner-up
spot. But anyone of the teams could have claimed it on the day, as the league was so closely contested. In the final match of the day, which could have seen them relegated if they had lost, a crucial win secured them 2nd place.
