Fusion win last match of the Premier Division season to seal 3rd place finish

03 May Fusion win last match of the Premier Division season to seal 3rd place finish

In the last match of the Premier Division season, Fusion traveled to Cardiff to play Cardiff City TTC. A win was needed to seal 3rd place and thus the pressure was on for the team of Adewale Adeoye, Niall Cameron, Emran Hussain and Clive Carthy. Cardiff lined up Dan O’Connell, Dean Cundy, Lloyd Gregory and Benedict Watson to try and leapfrog North Ayrshire to 5th place with a point from this match.

The first two matches went the way of Fusion with Niall beating Dan and Ade beating Dean. Clive then lost to Lloyd Gregory and Emran beat Benedict to give Fusion a 3:1 lead. A lead that was maintained in the next two matches through Niall beating Lloyd, while Ade lost to Dan. So, one more win was needed from the last two matches and Clive delivered with a 3:0 victory over Benedict. Thus, it didn’t matter that Emran lost narrowly to Dean; Fusion clinched 3rd place with a 5:3 away win.
